We will explore the process of forming an unincorporated community council (UCC). We will 1) form a youth community council to inform, implement, observe, and evaluate our outreach efforts and 2) hold community meetings at the local library [when hours of operation allow] and at local restaurants that can accommodate 20-30 people, and that is fully accessible by public transportation. We intend to share information with and hear from all members of our Fairwood community. Food will be provided for community members in attendance.

The success of this project will include increased civic engagement by residents and community members within the King County unincorporated area of Fairwood. More directly, success at the end of the project will be determined by onboarding youth and youth leader community council members, completion of community meetings with increased engagement, budget adherence, satisfaction in the process by Fairwood participants, training, and knowledge transfer of necessary processes and timelines of civic engagement, and opportunity for sustainability through formal commencement of a Fairwood Unincorporated Community Council.
